Keith Hiscock Red Chair Painting

KEITH HISCOCK

Keith Hiscock (b.1951) was born in Victoria, B.C., and he has been working as a professional artist since 1974. His work is most inspired by the scenery of the Pacific Northwest.

Although his earliest works were unrestrained and abstract, he has in recent years become very disciplined in his technical skills. Entirely self taught, Hiscock is currently best known for representational work, self-described as ‘magic realism’. His painstaking attention to detail produce a remarkable sense of tranquility and contemplation. His work presents a timeless interplay of light and shadow, enhanced by the unspoken serenity of form and simplicity.

He has been an artist in residence at the prestigious event “Painters at Painters” since its inception in 1994 in Campbell River B.C.
